Oh Elie...!

Elie Saab Spring '08 Haute Couture
Two words: GOR GEOUS. Stylists will undoubtedly be scrambling for Elie Saab's spectacular sparkling gowns and dresses from his spring '08 haute couture collection (especially if they're suckers for sparkle like me!). Saab sent out heaps of fabulous frocks bedecked in crystals and sequins, and fashioned in whisper-thin layers of silk, chiffon and satin. (Sigh...)
My prediction: We'll be seeing more than just a few A-list actresses rocking them on the red carpet.

Why I LOVE Lanvin...

Lanvin Pre-Fall "08
Lanvin's Alber Elbaz is undoubtedly my favorite designer at the moment. Why? He consistently comes up with drop dead gorgeous collections that I--and I think most women--WANT to wear. He, for the most part, keeps things simple, but with perfect amounts of dazzle or drama, whether it be through color, draping, or my personal favorite, sparkle. He encompasses sex-appeal and femininity without crossing the line of being too 'girlie'. His creations are timeless, yet still youthful and exciting. (Scroll down for my round-up of his brilliant spring '08 collection.) Most of all, his collections, through and through, are 100% wearable.

So there you have it. And now, let me stop and let the clothes speak for themselves. Here are my picks from Lanvin's pre-fall '08 collection. Oh yeah!

'Yes We Can Can' Food Drive & Crazy Legs B-Day Bash

1/2/08

"Yes We Can Can" is an annual food drive and birthday party that 'Crazy Legs' of the Rock Steady Crew throws at the beginning of the year. The event is free, however guests MUST bring non-perishable or canned food for admission. The food is donated to The Point (www.ThePoint.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to youth development and the cultural and economic revitalization of the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx, who, this year, will give the food to a homeless shelter in the area. Great way to kick off the new year--and the event always draws a most colorful crowd.
